AU Adaptive hit the road for the past two days and visited sports camps for children with disabilities. Our first stop was Easter Seals Camp ASCCA in Jackson's Gap, Alabama for a wheelchair basketball clinic. The afternoon was filled with chair skills, shooting and dribbling fundamentals, and of course some full-court scrimmages.
The next stop was Locust Grove, Georgia at the Henry County Park and Recreation Center. This event was being headed up by Harlon Matthews who helped with our tennis exhibition a couple of months ago. We spent the morning teaching the fundamentals of wheelchair tennis.
We enjoyed both camps and hope that the kids learned something about wheelchair sports. Hopefully this will inspire them to continue playing.
Thank you to Camp ASCCA and Henry County Park and Recreations for inviting us to be a part of your camps. We had a great time.
