AU Adaptive visited with Boy Scouts of the Chattahoochee Council at Camp Lumpkin this weekend in West Point, Georgia. We spent Saturday teaching the scouts about wheelchair basketball and about different disabilities.
We brought our wheelchairs and set up outside the dinning hall for a basketball demonstration. Jared taught the boys about playing wheelchair basketball and Phillip spoke to them about what it is like to have a disability. This was in an effort for the scouts to earn a disability awareness badge. It was a great day of fun for all the boys.
There was approximately 1,000 participants at this event (this included scouts and their families). We had a great time and would like to thank Tim Birt for inviting us.
